Spelt flour can be used to make bread, pastries, cakes and sauces. It has a delicious nutty flavour.
Spelt is a highly nutritious ‘ancient grain’ traced back to the Neolithic period (6000BC) and particularly popular in Roman times; it is a close relative of more modern wheat varieties. Spelt is a low yielding crop and is sensitive to climate change so needs very careful management by committed and skilled farmers to grow a successful organic crop. Some people with mild wheat or gluten sensitivity find spelt easier to digest than modern wheat varieties.

All dried food orders are packed in home compostable brown paper bags.
Some food items contain natural oils which may be absorbed by the brown paper bags. We recommend putting your dried food items in airtight or semi airtight containers as soon as possible to retain freshness.
