A warm and very earthy spice with the most glorious deep yellow colour (that stains everything it touches!). Commonly used in Indian foods it is also added to scrambled eggs and used in many rice dishes. Also added to many north African dishes. Recently, turmeric has had much focus in the medical world with lots of research currently underway to establish its seemingly multiple benefits. The component in turmeric called curcumin is thought to be significantly anti-inflammatory and pain relieving, it is also being studied for its possible anti-cancer properties. Health research recommends that this spice be used in combination with black pepper as an ingredient in black pepper, aids the absorption of the beneficial component curcumin.

PACKAGING
All dried food orders are packed in home compostable brown paper bags. Some food items contain natural oils which may be absorbed by the brown paper bags. Some natural oils may seep through onto other items. We recommend putting your dried food items in airtight or semi airtight containers to retain freshness.
