No need to soak before being cooked but best rinsed well in cold water. These lentils will expand considerably through cooking so ensure there is at least 3 times the volume of liquid to lentils. . Simmer for minimum of 10-15 minutes, though can happily cook for longer. They will not hold their shape when cooked so are best used in soups and dahls.
Red split lentils are highly nutritious and packed with protein and iron. Great used to thicken and increase the nutritional value of tomato soups. Can also be cooked within a dish – eg a soup or stew.

PACKAGING
All dried food orders are packed in home compostable brown paper bags. Some food items contain natural oils which may be absorbed by the brown paper bags. Some natural oils may seep through onto other items. We recommend putting your dried food items in airtight or semi airtight containers to retain freshness.
