MORE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT AND HOW TO USE/COOK

Millet is a cereal grain that is gluten free.  It is a very highly nutritious grain considered an ‘ancient grain’ as its uses go back many thousands of years – it is highly praised for being climate change and pest resistant and can also grow on relatively infertile soil – we may be seeing more of millet in the future based on this! It can be cooked and used in a number of ways – fluffy like rice, creamy like porridge, crunchy like granola! Mash cooked millet in with cooked beans and spices to make an excellent veggie burger. Make a creamy, cinnamon, spiced apple porridge with it for a warming, highly nutritious breakfast. Use it as a rice or couscous replacement and to mix with other veg to stuff peppers. Sprinkle cooked millet into salads or add to frittatas (‘Naturally Ella’ has lots of ideas for Millet)

To cook, add double the quantity of liquid (water/stock/milk etc) to a pan with the millet and a splash of oil. With the lid on, bring to the boil and simmer gently for about 16 minutes. Take off the heat (lid still on) and leave to sit for a further 10 mins to absorb remaining liquid.
