Nutrient rich, naturally sweet, earthy, gooey and firm, but with a little bit of crunch, whole dried figs are a great addition to many sweet and savoury dishes. Added whole or halved in chunky stews and slow cooked casseroles they add depth and sweetness. Cut smaller and added to breakfasts and in all sorts of baking they add great flavour and nutritional load. Wonderful and an essential ingredient in ‘sticky toffee pudding’. Full of fibre and essential nutrients they are an excellent addition to anyone wishing to improve their diet.
Dried figs certainly don’t need to be soaked but are delicious when they are – can be long soaked in marsala wine with other dried fruits, warmed and served with crème fraiche for a wonderful desert.

PACKAGING
All dried food orders are packed in home compostable brown paper bags. Some food items contain natural oils which may be absorbed by the brown paper bags. Some natural oils may seep through onto other items. We recommend putting your dried food items in airtight or semi airtight containers to retain freshness.
