Bulgar wheat is a staple food in middle eastern and Mediterranean diets (most British people first encounter it in tabbouleh). It is a whole grain so is high in fibre with a good amount of protein and other important nutrients. It has been cracked and partially precooked and is great in all sorts of dishes from pilafs, soups, casseroles and salads. Use in place of any other grain for a change. Great when still warm and mixed with fresh herbs, olive oil and lemon juice
To cook in a pan, cover with just under double the amount of water/stock to grain. Keep the lid on tight. Bring to the boil. Simmer gently for a few minutes then take off the heat and leave to soak in the hot water for a further 10 mins.

PACKAGING
All dried food orders are packed in home compostable brown paper bags. Some food items contain natural oils which may be absorbed by the brown paper bags. Some natural oils may seep through onto other items. We recommend putting your dried food items in airtight or semi airtight containers to retain freshness.
